Forecast: More

It’s raining in Tallinn… Forecast: More.

Yesterday was clear, though. I took the Pentax to the streets for several hours, taking pictures in the city, of everyday things.

Film takes a while to come back, so here’s a favorite from Helsinki a couple of weeks ago.

I love it because it feels like something.

I love it because it feels like something.

I thought I needed a new camera. Turns out I needed an old one. Turns out what I was looking for wasn’t an easier way, wasn’t sharper images or richer colors.

I was looking for a feeling.

I was looking for the feeling you get when you put your whole heart into finding beauty where you are. I was looking for the feeling you get when you commit to the picture and know that, for better or worse, it truly belongs to you.

I was looking for the feeling you get from knowing that it might cost you, but that it’s worth the time to wait and worth the price of bringing it alive.

I was looking for pictures that remind you of those things.

I’m so glad to find film again. It’s risky, but it’s rewarding.

And I love it because it feels like something.
